First...I had intended to write a nice entry on Sunday, but the day got away from me and I will explain that later. Sunday was a special day for our family...On August 24, 1968 both my parents and Michael's parents were each married. Those of you who know us well, know that this is just one of the random odd coincidences that we have in common. So not only did each our parents celebrate their anniversaries, but they have been married for 40 YEARS!!!! Congratulations, folks!!!! Michael and I (and our kids) are so blessed to have parents who have stayed committed and loyal to one another. What a great example for our family! We love all four of you and are thankful for your role in our lives!!
To recap my last 48 hours...
*Nate was awake a lot Saturday night coughing
*woke up Sunday with NASTY cough and difficulty breathing
*after observing for 2 hours, decided to go to the ER (with none other than my 40 year anniversary celebrating in-laws...don't we all hope to spend our 40th in the ER with a sick baby?)
*spent about 3 hours in the ER (breathing treatments, steroids, x-rays and some screaming hear and there) to leave with a diagnosis of Croup and an ear infection
*Woke up today with a slightly improved cough
*after a few hours, decided he needed to see a pediatrician for follow-up as a fever spiked and he was just not doing well
*after 2.5 hours at the pediatrician's office (another breathing treatment, fever of 102.9), we were off to the ER for chest x-rays
Currently...
The doctor called around 8 to say that the x-rays were not as bad as he thought they would be. Although not full pneumonia, it is headed that way. We have increased his steroids, loaded up on Tylenol, Amoxycillan and increased breathing treatments in hopes of fighting the attack on his little lungs. We will see the doctor tomorrow to see who is winning! I sure hope Nate can fight hard tonight and be the champ tomorrow. Sorry there have not been picture updates lately. You wouldn't have wanted to see Nate lately...and I'm just too tired!!
