Easter fun!

As much as I tell myself I will update this blog more often, or be more intentional about taking pictures of simple daily things...I fail miserably at both. I have been working about 50 hours a week for the past 3 weeks and it has taken a tole on me in many ways. I was amazed how good it felt to have a 3 day weekend. Not a true vacation, but just the extra day made it feel so much more refreshing. We crammed our three days with a whole lot of nothing...which is usually far better than any big plans we may create! Spending time together and simply enjoying our family is exactly what I needed.
It started with some egg dying...
This was the first year Nathan actually participated. In years past, it always happened that we were dying eggs while he was napping. He jumped right in repeating numerous times, "I co-yur the eggs now?"
Then it was our traditional "hunt" on Easter morning, with the help of clues left by none other than the Easter Bunny himself. I love that Paige remembers it now and asks about clues and hiding places, because she recalls the drill from the previous year.
I had visions of getting a perfect picture of their final Easter as a sibling group of 2! Well, they may not be perfect, but we certainly captured who they were at that moment. You name it, we heard the excuse..."the sun is in my eyes"..."it's too hot"..."he's not looking at you"...
And just so you have proof that she can smile when the sun is shining, we tried again after church.
After church we spent some time together at home before dinner with the whole Viele family, including the kids second Easter Egg Hunt, and some golf practice for Nate.

Reality hit hard Monday morning when my alarm went off for work...and even harder this morning when it was back to school for Paige after Spring Break. Routine is good for us, but it sure was nice to have 3 days of unplanned and unroutined activities. We are scheduled to close on our new house tomorrow, but that looks unlikely at this point. We are hopeful it will happen some time this week...but also realistic. I go to the doctor next week and am eager to find out when they will do another ultrasound to determine if this little critter has flipped and give us a guarantee on gender. Despite the lack of a guarantee, I admit that I had to break down and but an outfit last week and two adorable hand-made hats from Etsy...just in case they were right!
