The title pretty much sums up the week we've had in our house!
It started with Nate's horrible fall on Saturday. Since then, we have gone through more band-aids, Neosporin, hydrogen peroxide, Tylenol and butterfly bandages than I can keep track of. My initial instinct was to go to the ER, and I believe I will forever regret not following that instinct. It does not appear to be healing all that well, but supposedly that gives a boy character or "status" somehow?
Then our family party on Sunday brought the return of Mosquito-bite-mania! They seem to love Paige's blood and she swells like a balloon (which reminds me that I should tell you I actually BLEW UP BALLOONS for Paige's party...one of my greatest fears!). Surprisingly, she believes that a band-aid cures the bites, so we added to the count previously begun the day prior.
Tuesday was Paige's annual doctor visit. Amazingly, she was 2 years old the last time she saw the doctor for other than a well-child visit...she inherited Daddy's immune system! Sadly for her, it meant the dreaded Kindergarten shots...ALL 4 OF THEM...at one time...with only 1 nurse...who happened to be the least sensitive and most abrasive nurse I've ever met. I was amazed at how well she handled the whole ordeal, but the band-aid count and the ounces of Tylenol count were both quickly increased!
Last night, Nathan took a tumble off a chair head-first to the kitchen floor...MORE TYLENOL!!
That about sums up our week! Poor kids, but it could be MUCH worse! Thankful today for their good health, despite these little bumps in the pavement (or on their face, or arm, or leg...). I'm gearing up for WORK tomorrow. It is the first day I will work since my last day at BOCES on June 25, 2008. I have quickly been reminded about the stresses of a working mom...and it's only for one day! More on that later!
