It's here...NOW???

We are about an hour away from DECEMBER...which means we are a mere few weeks away from...CHRISTMAS! This is by far my favorite holiday! Not just because of the significance of the day, but because it holds so many amazing memories for me. My parents did many things right, but birthdays and Christmas were at the top of the list! They made sure to go all out, and not just about presents (although I will be the first to admit that my sister and I were quite spoiled). It was cookies, decorations, breakfast with Santa, drudging through the woods to find the perfect tree, the music, the movies, the awe and excitement that we all love! There is a part of me that has been dreading this Christmas season because I will be so far away from the traditions I know and the family I love.

But I am determined to make Christmas just as good for my kids, even if we can't go to Stoeke's this year to cut down our own tree. I am excited! Excited to continue old traditions...the pinata, the music, the cookies, the decorating! And I am excited to make some new ones! Like this week...we will go to a local store and purchase a tree that was most likely shipped here from a farm in NY!!! But we'll buy it with pride!!
