How many Viele's does it take to fly a kite??

Apparently, 3.5 was not quite enough! This may only be funny to us, who knows. Last Christmas when we came to the beach for a visit, Papa really wanted to take Paige to fly a kite. That they did...into the great unknown. That kite went on to find a better home. Paige was disappointed, but was promised another chance. To Papa's disappointment, this night was not much more successful. Blame it on a faulty kite? Paige was the only one that really got it up, but it didn't last long. Here's hoping for another kite and another chance to fly it!
Despite the lack of kite flying, no night at the ocean is wasted!!!!

Paige, after asking to be carried from the car to the ocean, quickly remembered her love, kicked off her flip-flops and went running! It wasn't long before she was getting her brother excited about where we were and encouraging him to play chase!
Thanks to her help, Nathan was much more willing to play this time! He even laughed, smiled...and touched the sand!!
Again I say, there is no place like the ocean to wipe away the craziness of a roller coaster week! It obviously doesn't take away the reality of life circumstances, but it sure helps us regain perspective. If our God is amazing enough to create something like this, who much more amazing is His love for the children He created?

I am SO glad you get to experience the same joys I have my little beach buddy. It really is surreal and very melt-your-troubles-away-ish, isn't it? Just being next to the ocean...the way it sounds, the way it smells...puts you in this trance that throws things into perspective where you can just...be.
p.s. i'm gunna meet those babies of yours one day, here. i know it. when you're up for a vacation, let me know. i'll pull some strings to get you a place to stay. xoxo
