I thought once we were in one house and able to establish a routine, life would feel a bit more settled. We are still working on the routine and the settling part, but it has been great to not be half in and half out.
I saw the mid-wife at my OB practice today. She was wonderful and I have a better feeling about sticking it out where I am. With the plan to induce early, she said I will get the chance to choose who delivers the baby and which day. That was encouraging as I have met two doctors I wouldn't want anywhere near me during labor.
I noticed when I arrived that the office was slow and quiet. Because of the Holiday weekend, the doctors had all left for the day and there were 2 nurses left. After my non-stress test, I was standing around talking with the nurses. One thing lead to another and they felt so badly that we weren't able to find out the gender, they offered to do a "hush-hush" ultrasound. It was quite comical, really. They put me in a back room and we each attempted to interpret what we saw...none of us are trained to use the high-tech machine. I left with no guarantee on gender, yet again. We are still guessing girl, but I will have my official ultrasound on the 15th. The one great thing that came out of it is that we were able to determine this little flower has officially flipped! Her head is down and she is in position. No breech position and no c-section!!! That made it all worth it to have that confirmed! Everything looked great and the stress test went well. I will have 2 non-stress-tests a week from now until the baby arrives. It will be a busy 4-6 weeks!
As far as the house goes...we are slowly making progress. Our carpet won't be installed until Tuesday, so we have all of our kitchen and living room furniture in our dinette area. Not the greatest set-up, but it beats moving the big stuff multiple times. I feel like there will be boxes all over the house for years to come. I can unpack one at a time, then I need a break. I will post some pictures soon.
