It is hard to believe that my parents week-long visit has come and gone. Despite having a small house, children who crave attention, an attack of PINK EYE, and a pull-out bed that doesn't offer the greatest nights sleep, it feels like my folks were only here for a few hours. They arrived bearing gifts from "the North"...a bulk size bag of candy corn from Wegmans, an enormous bag of NY apples from our local orchard (of which we happily consumed two homemade batches of Apple Crisp), a jug of apple cider for Mike, and a box of my favorite Italian cookies from a Rochester bakery. They know me well and their abilities to spoil the ones they love have only increased with time! They had a busy visit trying to cram in three concerts, visits with extended family members, dates with former college friends and family time. We were so glad they were able to go to church with us! Life since the move has been somewhat "UP IN THE AIR," while our church family has increasingly become one of the greatest constants in our world. We are so thankful for our church family and know we are truly blessed.
Sunday night Mom and Dad took us to our favorite restaurant. Amazingly, we used to go here more often when we were living in NY. Pretty sad, I know! One reason we love this place is it's location. It is nestled smack in the middle of the Ocean and the Inlet...you can't find a bad view from any seat in the place! After dinner we stopped at a Beach access so my folks could take in the view. Some were more impressed than others. I guess my deep love for the ocean is not totally an inherited trait! Despite that, the kids embrace any time they have to play in the sand!
As they say...all good things must come to an end. Our visit ended bright and early this morning with sadness and tears. But I am remaining positive and focusing on our next visit with them in NY for Thanksgiving! It meant more than I can express in words to have my Mom and Dad here with us! Hopefully it will become a tradition...and maybe next year they'll bring extra visitors!

I'm so glad that all of you had a great visit! Sounds like you got as much enjoyment out of it as they did, which is so heart-warming to hear. And both pictures of your parents, alone and with the grandkids, are "keepers".
