that will forever be etched in my heart. Days when NOTHING in the world matters except spending time together as a family. Days when schedules stop, plans don't exist and thinking about the stresses in life is simply not an option.
I've almost avoided this post for a week now, secretly hoping that if I didn't write down the memories of the day it would never end. Since January, we have had no more than 24 hours together at one time as a family. Mike was home for 48 straight hours, so we made the most of every minute!
After our adventures in my previous post, we spent all afternoon on Sunday at the pool where Mike's parents live. Nathan napped at Nanny's house so the three of us could enjoy the sun...which we did!! When Monday morning came with it's threats of thunderstorms and cloudy skies, we ignored the warnings and made our way to the beach. Sandcastles are always intriguing as they make them their own...
On this day there was a little "man-talk" as Nate was somewhat uncertain about the crashing waves. Daddy assured him he was safe, and it would be fun! In the end, I'm not sure if Nate would totally agree, but he played along!
Giggles and squeals were echoing around us as we made games out of catching the waves, or running from them. For just a while, it was as if time stood still.
I was surprised at how refreshed I was after our quick 48 hours together. Being a "quality time" love language person, my tank was full! We did nothing spectacular. Nothing we haven't done numerous times before. But the fact that we were together made it all feel unique! It helped me re-focus on embracing the journey. These are the days that make that concept so simple!

Sounds like a lovely family time! Like water on parched ground, I am sure. We need some talk time friend...this week.
