"DOES MY VOTE REALLY MATTER?"

This is the question I asked myself today...for 3 HOURS and 10 MINUTES while I waited in line to vote!!! Along with, "Are you kidding me??" Really...over 3 HOURS just to cast a vote that most likely has no impact on the result of the election. BUT, I was reminded numerous times about our privilege to vote and to live in a free country where we have some say in our government. I was overwhelmed with gratitude today for the men and women serving our country on foreign lands in order to keep those privileges secure! So maybe "My Guy" won't win...maybe he will. Either way, I had the option to go and voice my choice...for which I'm thankful.
A few lessons I learned for 2012...
1- Eat breakfast before you go to the polls!
2- DO NOT TAKE THE CHILDREN!!!
3- Bring a book...I could have read one twice!
